We analyse the new Alpinestars Gravity motorcycle touring suit, a great jacket and pants for travel: waterproof, versatile and much more.
The Touring motorcycle section is more fashionable this 2020 than ever and Alpinestars knows it. In fact, they’ve just launched the Alpinestars Gravity Drystar jacket and pants to match, a reliable touring outfit, with a good quality-price ratio. Ideal for travelling with your motorcycle.
Alpinestars Gravity Drystar jacket
Let’s start with the Alpinestars Gravity Drystar jacket, a very versatile and functional touring motorcycle jacket, made of 600D polyester, a very abrasion resistant textile fabric with a polyurethane coating.
What we need to make clear is that, as we’ve said, this is a very versatile touring outfit. Why? Like any good motorcycle gear, it’s waterproof as it has the Alpinestars Drystar membrane.
In case you didn’t know, this is a reliable waterproof membrane, with good resistance and breathable. An important point that one.
On the other hand, it comes with a removable thermal lining and it has air inlets with zips in order to adapt to any weather situation. Which, as we said, makes them an extremely versatile jacket and pants.
Moving on to the protections. As it’s a touring motorcycle outfit devised for travelling, the protections are homologated and are reliable: removable Nucleon Flex Plus protections on the shoulders and elbows, as well as incorporating polyester reinforcements in critical areas to give us that extra abrasion resistance in the event of a fall.
Alpinestars Gravity Drystar : protections
It’s also interesting that we can include an Alpinestars Nucleon back protector, if we deem it necessary, and it’s not included. As we always say: don’t worry as in the description we’ll leave the links to the compatible protections.
Another feature that touring jackets and pants must have is comfort. Reiterating: we’ll spend long hours on the bike.
Therefore, the Gravity jacket has adjustable waist, cuffs and sleeve width, there’s padding on the shoulders and arms, the collar is adjustable and there’s a YKK zip with a waterproof flap for a secure closure.
And to finish off the jacket, there are a few more details: there are 2 outer pockets, 1 inner waterproof pocket (very typical of Alpinestars) and another in the thermal lining. And it has a jacket-pants connecting zip to make up a very comfortable touring outfit and with which we won’t be cold.
Alpinestars Gravity Drystar pants
Seeing as we’re mentioning it, the pants have the same features as the jacket: very versatile, comfortable, made of 600D polyester with a laminated Drystar membrane, air inlets and a removable thermal lining.
As regards the protections, we have removable Nucleon Flex Plus protections on the knees and a hip protector can be added, which is not included. As we say, they’re also very comfortable pants, with accordion stretch inserts and padding on the rear of the waist.
And why not, other details to bear in mind: the waist is adjustable via Velcro, there’s a zip on the leg ends with Velcro for an enhanced fit, a cargo pocket in the thigh area of the left leg, and two front pockets. That is, everything you need to clock up a ton of miles on your bike.
If you’re looking for a touring motorcycle outfit, this new Alpinestars Gravity Drystar outfit is a very good option as it also comes with a very good quality-price ratio and it’s reliable. It carries on with the Italian brand’s good work with other best-selling touring suits like the Alpinestars Andes Drystar. The jacket is available in various different colours.
