The AGV Corsa W Helmet range has been awarded 5 SHARP stars and it is confirmed as one of the safest helmets in the world.

If last February, the AGV GT Veloce helmet family achieved five stars in the SHARP safety tests, a few weeks ago another range of the Italian brand of helmets was tested: the Corsa W, which also obtained the award as one of the 321 safest helmets in the world.

The SHARP certification (Safety Helmet and Assessment Rating Programme), promoted by the Department of Transport of the United Kingdom, independently evaluates and tests the safety of motorbike helmets, assigning five stars to those helmets that deserve the highest score in this field.

The AGV Corsa helmets have been designed to very high standards as regards safety, using a manufacturing method called, “Extreme Standard helmets”. This method is based on the concept of “human engineering” and is applied to different processes of helmet design, starting with the interior components that are in contact with the head, to then move away to the manufacture of the outer shell as a final process. The result is a helmet designed around the biker’s head, thus ensuring maximum comfort, ergonomics, safety and aerodynamics.

Pista GP VS Corsa W: main differences

The AGV Corsa W is the domestic version of the Pista GP, the helmet most used by leading top competition racers. What changes between the Pista GP and the Corsa W? Although the competition and sports genes are present in both models, the Corsa has functions that adapt the helmet for a more versatile road use. For example, if we look at the ventilation between one and the other, with the îsta GP you cannot regulate it on the go – the Corsa W you can- as the former has removable rubber covers devised for placing or removing in the box, the Corsa W has a mechanism operable with gloves on and on the go, a function devised more for the road and the possible temperature changes whilst circulating.

The helmet

The AGV Corsa W uses a very light fibreglass, Aramid and carbon fibre shell. It has four different shells for the seven different helmet sizes, which range from XS to XXL.

The interiors of the Corsa are made of absorbent Lycra and Shalimar, with anti-bacterial treatment. The components are detachable and washable.

As regards the ventilation of the helmet, it uses the IVS system (Integrated Ventilation System), which consists of long channels inside the shell and that cover all the space optimising its ventilation. The inlets and outlets have an opening and closing mechanism.

The Corsa W screen uses the metal XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) mechanism, which ensures the closure of the visor, avoiding its accidental opening. The screen has an easy and fast replacement system, which requires no tools. The visor has an anti-scratch, anti-fog treatment, tear-off system and provides a wide field of view to the user.

The AGV Corsa W is a double buckle and includes a breath guard.
