AGV K-1, good value for money and great benefits

We analyze...
AGV brings us one of the helmets that will surely become a best seller. We are talking about the K-1, successor of the K-3, the integral helmet of the most accessible range of the brand. However, in their manufacture, the powerful helmet technologies such as the Corsa R and the GP R Track have been applied, in order to launch a helmet with a sporty, safe design and with a great value for money.
Shell
The outer shell of the AGV K-1 is made of high strength thermoplastic resin. It is featured by being very light and is available in two sizes for a better fit to the size of each user.
With regard to the inner shell (EPS), it is made in four densities for optimal absorption of impacts and is sold in four different sizes, to fit optimally at the head of any motorcyclist.
The rear spoiler, which gives a very sporty and aggressive touch to the helmet, has been tested in the wind tunnel and offers great aerodynamics, in addition to stabilizing the helmet when we roll at high speeds. Thinking about the passive safety of the rider, this spoiler is designed to detach itself in the event of an accident and maintain the solid structure of the shell.
The weight of the helmet is around 1490 grams for an MS size and the helmet has been designed to minimize the risk that the energy generated by an eventual impact will be transmitted to the clavicle area. This is achieved thanks to the design of the profile of the base of the helmet, which we clearly see that it draws a very peculiar pre-curved line that increases safety in the event of a collision.
Ventilation
To achieve a good air flow, the K-1 has air inlets in the upper area, just above the screen, and in the chin bar in the purest Racing style and that, these inlets have been designed from the Pista GP R, a helmet designed for competition and that equips, among other pilots, Valentino Rossi. In this way, when we drive in a sporting position, the air flow is more fluid, which translates into comfort and freshness for the head. All the ventilations, with up to five ports of entry, are adjustable with on-off mechanism very practical to open or close them without problems, also with gloves.
In the spoiler that we mentioned earlier, we also see an integrated extractor.
The ventilation system has been optimized using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), so that good air circulation is guaranteed.
Screen
The clear anti-scratch screen is designed to offer a vertical field of vision in competition position and 190º of horizontal vision. To improve safety, the mechanism of the screen is 40% smaller than the K-3.
Thanks to Micro Mech technology, the mechanism to open it is very compact and allows four different opening modes. Particularly noteworthy is the micro-opening system in those days that is hotter, a very common system in AGV and very useful, being clearly one of the most stable and manipulable on the market, even with gloves on.
In addition, if we wish we can install a Pinlock, although it must be purchased separately.
The XQRS system (X-tra Quick Release System) allows us to remove and replace the screen without the use of tools and in a few seconds.
Inside
Being a helmet designed for different uses, the interior called Dry-Comfort offers a wraparound fit without excessive pressure, adapting easily to the face. In the most sensitive areas, such as the cheeks, forehead and neck, there are no seams and thus comfort is maximized.
The paddings feature Sanitized antibacterial treatment, 2Dry, to absorb moisture and, Microsense, offering a very pleasant touch with the skin.
The interior of the helmet is removable and washable and the users of glasses have a space to place them comfortably and safely.
Closure and details
The closure of the helmet is double buckle, the safest on the market, designed to protect us with total guarantees.
The new helmet of AGV is sold with up to six different graphics, including Valentino Rossi’s 3, which will surely be a hit. In this post we present the matt black model and the Soleluna 2015, one of the most famous graphics of the nine times world champion.
With the spirit of competition very present, the new AGV K-1 is the perfect helmet for your motorcycle experiences during your day to day, both on the road and in the city. A helmet that arrives at the market offering first class services, the result of AGV competition technology but at a super competitive price.
