Shoei likes to be leader in each of the sectors of the helmet market. Sport-touring is no exception and the brand has thought of a helmet where comfort on the go is premium. Here we’ll unveil the features of the GT-Air.
The sport-touring gear sector is becoming more and more consolidated on the market every day, for the appearance and quality of the new materials as well as the versatility it offers the buyer. In fact, for a bike user who uses his two wheels almost daily, and also takes advantage of the holidays or weekends for journeys or trips of several days on the bike, the sport-touring gear is that that best adapts to their needs.
In this ambit, Shoei has designed a helmet whose functions aim to fulfil the needs of a user that needs the helmet for everything and also that its standards as regards safety and comfort are maximum.
Along these lines, the GT-Air has an organic fibre, multi-composite fibre, multi-layer shell, materials that achieve an optimum rigidity, as well as great impact absorption. The shell has three different sizes, which adapt perfectly to the seven sizes that Shoei market: from XXS to XXl. The shell houses the QSV-1 solar visor that does not sacrifice the safety of the front part of the helmet. The visor is activated / deactivated in a practical and intuitive manner, thanks to a special lever which can be operated with gloves. This QSV-1 screen has anti-fog and anti-scratch treatment. The screen provides 99% protection from UV rays.
The screen fulfils with the European safety normative for this type of anti-UV screen: DIN EN 1836.
As regards the interiors, these have been designed in 3D to fit perfectly to the different morphologies of the users, ensuring a perfect fit all around the head. The interior is detachable and its elements washable. The side pads are sold in various thicknesses, for a more custom fit. The chin straps are also detachable.
The inner padding has an emergency release system E.Q.R.S., which allows us to remove the helmet safely without causing injuries to the accident victim.
As regards the fastening of the helmet, this uses the Full Metal Ratchet, a 100% stainless steel system, very easy to adjust whilst practical to open/close. The use of plastic does not sacrifice the safety of the fastener.
The following elements are included in the helmet: the breath guard, the Pinlock anti-fog screen, the chin guard or curtain, the solar screen and the clear visor.
