The Alpinestars Bogotá Drystar V2 is a versatile jacket designed to wear throughout the year. With its impermeability and resistance to cold along with a tour-adventure approach, the renovation of the mythical Bogota is an option suitable for all people.
Materials and construction
As a good touring jacket, the outer layer of the Alpinestars Bogotá Drystar V2 is made with numerous materials that offer maximum durability and tear and abrasion resistant panels at elbows and shoulders.
Inside we find the Alpinestars Drystar removable membrane, 100% waterproof and breathable, which offers an excellent performance in all weather conditions.
The removable thermal lining, on the other hand, is long sleeve and improves insulation when we drive with low temperatures.
The two pieces discussed let us glimpse the versatility of the jacket, because if we dismantle them we have a perfect garment to wear also in hot days.
The elastic inserts in accordion of the elbows allow us a great flexibility. After testing it we can ensure that it allows a great freedom of movement thanks to these insertions.
The lower part of the back is longer and we adopt the driving position that we adopt, the lumbar area is totally protected.
The detachable protectors on elbows and shoulders are the Bio-Armor, with CE, one of the last generation protections of the brand.
In addition, the Bogota V2 has a compartment in the chest and another in the back with padded PE. If we wish we can separately purchase the Alpinestars Nucleon protectors to gain in safety.
Also referring to safety must be emphasized the reflective inserts, which make it easier for us to be more visible in night conditions or in low light.
The Bogotá V2 Drystar incorporates the Jet Ventilation System (JVS). This system stands out for allowing a very fluid circulation of air thanks to the two large air intakes in the front and back, all with zippers. Even in the arms we have openings with zipper for optimum ventilation.
Logically, as we said at the beginning, if we extract the Drystar membrane and the thermal lining, the ventilation and the feeling of freshness is increased, something that is appreciated when we ride on motorcycle on the hottest days.
Closure and adjustments
The jacket features a high-quality YKK zipper as a main closure with a large flap that protects us from wind and rain. In the neck area is a soft padding lining to improve comfort and is especially appreciated when we drive for hours with the bike, especially in roads of curves.
The sleeves have an anatomical design, pre-curved and its width is adjustable by straps. The cuffs are also adjustable thanks to a velcro that they have incorporated, while the waistband and the lower part of the jacket are customizable thanks to a strap and a buttons.
As for the adjustments, also highlights the Alpinestars jacket-pants connecting zip, one in the main layer of the jacket and another in the Drystar membrane. Both zippers are used to connect branded pants.
Pockets and details
The Bogota V2 has five exterior pockets: four in the front, two of them waterproof, and one in the lower back. In addition, it has another waterproof inner pocket to store our most delicate objects.
And one detail that we can not ignore is that the jacket is compatible with Alpinestars BNS protections, a range of brand protections designed to prevent cervical injuries.
In summary, the Alpinestars Bogotá Drystar V2 comes to market with clear improvements over the previous model, becoming an even more touring and complete jacket. Prepared for any weather conditions, it should be added that combined with the Bogota V2 Drystar pants form a formidable touring suit. This gear is also available in Lady version, adapted to the female physique and with the same features that we have presented.
