The Dainese Montmartre D1 is a waterproof jacket designed to give you freedom while riding within your city. Scooters, underbones and communting bikes users will appreciate the combination of waterproof fabric, removable thermal lining and low weight, which, along its discrete lines, make this jacket a great ally for a every day use.
Construction and materials
The main fabric used in the Dainese Montmartre D1 is called Motegi, a Dainese’s own creation fabric characterized for having a special abrasion treatment. To this fabric, Dainese has attached a D-Dry waterproof membrane, also a Dainese R&D department creation. The D-Dry membrane is laminated directly to the Motegi fabric layer by internal seams, which contributes to lower weight and also improved comfort without compromising the impermeability.

The jacket also features an inner winter lining that can be removed through a combination of side zippers and buttons on the sleeves. Under this, there’s two different fabrics that make up the jacket’s fixed lining. One is a mesh fabric, which provides a soft touch, while the other, a microperforted mesh, has as main objective mantain an optimum breathability. Finally, the Montmatre D1 D-Dry have a detachable hood (by zippers and push buttons), that also features an inner thermal lining.

The Montmartre D1 D-Dry feature Pro-Shape flexible protectors on elbows and shoulders, offering the needed protection for city riding with low weight to make this jacket a useful and comfortable garment to wear when we got off the bike. The Montmartre D1 D-Dry also has a dedicated space in the back for the insertion of Dainese’s G1 or G2 back protectors, but it not come standard with the jacket.
Fasteners and details
The jackets have a zipper as main closure, but the jacket also has front flap with buttons that improves the tightness of the jacket. Buttons to adjust the waist or sleeves are also used, plus an elastic strip to the hood, which is removable by zipper.
The hood is also waterprofed and can be detached by zipper (upper right), and adjusted by elastic ropes (down right).
There are two outter pockets and two more inside, all of them at the sides and with zipper closure. There’s also a inner pocket attached to the removable lining, this one with velcro closure.
The Montmartre D1 D-Dry has also all the attention to detail typical of a Dainese product, like a small rubber pin intended to fix smartphone helmet’s wires so not having them not hanging around the jacket. Finally, there is also a reflective insert on the back, which enhances our visibility in low light.
The Dainese Montmartre D1 is an excellent jacket for urban use, because it has everything you need to be equipped on a motorcycle but also becomes a versatile jacket for a daily use, including going to work. This, coupled with its waterproof properties and thermal liner, make the Montmartre an ideal item for urban riding for almost all seasons.
